Put these on your radar for Summer 2019:
PAsmart: Learning Pathways
Planning to pay stipends for three teachers in each ABC CREATE district to work on the Learning Pathways created by the ABC CREATE collaborative. Expected to be 2 days in June 2019 and 1 day in August 2019.
PAsmart: CS Opportunities
Providing professional development for four teachers (and paying a stipend for attendance) from each member district to participate in a training for code.org’s CS Discoveries curriculum to help develop skills and confidence for our teachers in CS. Sevenzo Professional Learning Project - A few district spots still available
With support from the Grable Foundation, up to seven (7) districts within the ABC CREATE collaborative have an opportunity to examine and strengthen their district professional development systems. As of today, there are a few district spots remaining. Districts that choose to participate will have the opportunity to investigate and strengthen their own professional learning systems, with the longer term goal being that we share, build upon, and spread models that support collaboration and learning across the entire collaborative.

Districts that choose to participate will:
  • Engage a small team in independently taking an online PD assessment to gather multiple perspectives
  • Convene the team for a 2-3 hour meeting to review the PD assessment results and discuss priorities, with the support of a Sevenzo facilitator
  • Be invited to attend a half-day convening late in the spring with other participating districts and ABC CREATE to exchange ideas and support one another in planning a few specific PD system changes
  • Identify a few concrete and realistic action steps to strengthen teacher peer-led learning experiences and address other essential gaps

If you would like to learn more or are ready to sign up to participate, please contact Meredith Bortz at meredith@sevenzo.org.
