ABC CREATE 2nd Annual school2school STEAM Showcase 2025!The idea of a traveling STEAM Showcase was first launched in 2024 as a creative response to the challenges of substitute teacher shortages. It provided an opportunity for ABC CREATE educators to both showcase and observe best practices in STEAM-based teaching and learning. Based on the positive feedback from last year’s participants—like, "There was truly something special about seeing the lessons live in action, with students and materials, on the premises in the different spaces of different classrooms and districts."—we are thrilled to host a second traveling showcase this year. This year’s school2school STEAM Showcase will take place during the weeks of April 7-10 and May 5-8; it will involve K-8 educators from ABC CREATE partner districts visiting one another’s classrooms to observe STEAM-integrated lessons in action with students. We’re especially looking forward to seeing inquiry-based and discovery learning activities—perhaps even STEELS-aligned lessons! If you're interested in hosting a lesson(s), please keep in mind the following:
If you have a STEAM-integrated lesson you’re proud to share and would like to host a session (or two!) during the showcase, please complete an interest form by Monday, March 10th. Remake Learning Pulse ChecksOutdoor Learning At the first session, attendees will gain a snapshot of current regional efforts, assets, and opportunities and challenges. We will begin to identify unique opportunities for collective action. At the second session, attendees will focus on making sense of what we know about what’s happening, what’s needed, and what’s hoped for in Outdoor Learning in the Pittsburgh region. We should end with an outline of actionable goals for Remake Learning Network Strategy Development.
Artificial Intelligence and Education AI is reshaping education in ways that are still unfolding. Rather than rushing to answers, these Pulse Checks are an opportunity to pause together, reflect, and make sense of these shifts as a community. This is a space for dialogue and shared learning with the goal of our time together being the surfacing of needs, possibilities, and ways we might accelerate knowledge growth in this area. We hope you'll join us to explore how AI is showing up in classrooms, how it’s shaping teaching and learning, and what values we want to center in this moment of change.
